Every feature, from the first launch.

No account, no login, no cloud. Everything runs on your device and works fully offline — nothing in this post is hidden behind a wall.

What Fanforge does

Fanforge is a writer's tool for original fiction (and fanfic in canon-aware mode): a character bible, a relationship graph, a plot board with scene-level beats, and a canon ledger that records the rules of your world so they stay consistent across hundreds of pages.

What's in v1:

— Character bible: per-character page with name, role, motive (one line), secret (one line), appearance, voice tics, three things they'd never say, three things they always do, the wound, the want. Drawn from screenwriting craft books in the public domain. — Relationship graph: characters as nodes; edges labeled (sibling, rival, secret-lover, knew-each-other-before). Tap a node to see all edges. — Plot board: scenes as cards organized into 4 acts. Drag to reorder. Each card has: scene goal, conflict, outcome, POV character, location. — Canon ledger: rules of your world (magic system, technology, geography, politics, language). Each rule has a one-paragraph statement and a list of scenes that reference it. — Continuity check: a quick scan that flags scenes whose POV character isn't in the location's roster, or whose canon ledger entries conflict.

For fanfic specifically: 'canon mode' lets you import a public-domain or Creative-Commons-licensed canon (Sherlock Holmes, Jane Austen, Mythology, etc.). The app won't import copyrighted material — that's on you to keep separate.

Free. Optional Fanforge Plus ($19.99/yr) adds export to Markdown / DOCX, larger scene cards (10K+ per project), and a beat-sheet wizard (Save the Cat, Story Genius, Snowflake).

What's inside

  • Character bible — Per-character pages with craft prompts.
  • Plot board — Drag-reorder scene cards by act.
  • Canon ledger — Rules of your world, referenced by scenes.
  • Continuity check — POV + location + canon scan.

Why we built it

Archive of Our Own has 12M+ users + 100M+ writers globally. Marvel/Star Wars/Harry Potter franchises generate $50B+ in licensed merch + content. Inworld AI raised $120M for AI game characters. The dedicated fandom + worldbuilding platform with a sane consumer subscription doesn't exist on mobile.

What makes it different

Fanforge is the only mobile app that treats CANON as a first-class data structure with continuity checks. Compared to Notion (general), Scrivener (desktop, complicated), Plottr (desktop), Inworld AI (game characters not writer-craft). Mobile-native, on-device, structured.

Who it's for

People who have tried every productivity app and bounced off the noise. If you want something calm, fast, and private, this is for you.

In one line: A story bible and plot board for the world you're building.
