Milestones, kept. Phone changes, fine.

Every feature, from the first launch.

No account, no login, no cloud. Everything runs on your device and works fully offline — nothing in this post is hidden behind a wall.

What Firstyear does

Firstyear is the offline baby milestone tracker that survives your next phone. The CDC's free Milestone Tracker is excellent — but its top App Store complaint, year after year, is the same one: you get a new phone, you open the app, and your baby's tracked data is gone. Firstyear is the version where the data lives in a place you control and exports as a real document you can keep.

What ships in v1:

— CDC-aligned milestone checklist by age (2/4/6/9/12/15/18/24/30 months). Each milestone has its plain-language description ("copies sounds you make," "holds head steady without support"). — Tap to mark achieved with a date. Add a note or photo of the moment. — "When to act early" gentle flags. The CDC's published warning signs surfaced when a child is past the typical age — informational, never diagnostic. — Growth log. Weight, length, head circumference at each well-visit. Swift Charts of percentile trajectories using bundled WHO/CDC curves. — First-year keepsake PDF. One-tap export — every achieved milestone with date + photo, growth curves, your notes — formatted as a printable keepsake. — Multi-child support, on one device. — iCloud backup via your own Apple ID (optional). Never our server. — No account, no ads, no subscription.

For the 3.4M new US parents each year — and especially the ones who got burned by their previous app and want a record they can keep forever.

What's inside

  • Children — Multi-child profiles with DOB
  • Milestones — Age-grouped checklist; tap to mark + add photo/note
  • Growth — Weight/length/head log + percentile curves (Swift Charts)
  • Act-early flags — Gentle reminders if past typical age — informational only
  • Keepsake PDF — One-tap printable first-year book via share sheet

Why we built it

Parents want to track baby milestones and growth, but the CDC's free Milestone Tracker — the most-recommended option — has a documented data-loss bug: new phone = lost history. Other apps require cloud accounts or subscriptions.

What makes it different

Firstyear is the only iOS baby milestone tracker that combines the CDC-aligned checklist + bundled WHO/CDC growth percentile curves + photo notes per milestone + a one-tap keepsake PDF + optional iCloud backup via the user's own Apple ID — all offline, no account, no subscription — CDC's app loses data on phone change…

Who it's for

Sandwich-generation caregivers, adult children of aging parents, and anyone keeping records for more than one person.

In one line: Milestones, kept. Phone changes, fine.
