Mellow
A calm tracker for what you drink.
Every feature, from the first launch.
No account, no login, no cloud. Everything runs on your device and works fully offline — nothing in this post is hidden behind a wall.
What Mellow does
Mellow is the calmest way to keep track of what you drink — beer, wine, cocktails, spirits, or zero-proof.
Three taps logs a drink. The calendar shows your patterns over weeks and months. Stats show your dry days, dollars saved, and longest streak. Notes let you capture what you felt or what triggered the drink.
No subscription. No ads. No account. No email. Everything stays on your device. Mellow is free because tracking your drinking shouldn't cost $99/year.
— Quick-log: tap a drink type, choose a preset size (12 oz beer, 5 oz wine, 1.5 oz spirits) or set custom, ABV is pre-filled by category and editable, tap save. — Calendar heatmap: every day shows a colored cell scaled by drink count. Glance at the month and see your patterns. — Stats: this week and this month — drinks logged, dry days, dollars saved (vs your typical drink price), calories tracked, longest dry streak. — Optional note per drink: a sentence about how you felt, what triggered it, who you were with. Helpful for spotting patterns. — Designed calm: warm cream, no red alerts, no streak harassment, no flashing badges. Just a calm tracker. — Built for privacy: zero network calls. Nothing leaves your iPhone.
Whether you're doing Dry January, sober-curious, cutting back gradually, or just want to see your patterns — Mellow tracks without judgment.

What's inside
- Quick-log a drink — Tap one of five drink types (beer / wine / cocktail / spirits / NA). Pre-filled preset size (12 oz / 5 oz / 1.5 oz) and ABV. Tap save. Optional note. Three taps total in the common case.
- Calendar heatmap — Month-grid where each day is a colored cell scaled by drink count: 0 drinks = soft cream, 1 = light amber, 2 = amber, 3+ = warm orange. Tap a day to see what you logged.
- Week + month stats — Stats tab shows: this-week total drinks + dry days, this-month total + dry days, dollars saved (vs your average drink price), calories tracked, longest dry-day streak ever.
- Dry-day streak — A single number — the count of consecutive days with zero drinks logged. No buzzing, no badges, no harassment. Just a calm count.
- Optional notes — Each drink can have an attached note — a sentence about how you felt, what triggered it, or who you were with. Useful for retrospective pattern-spotting; never required.
- Privacy by default — Zero network calls. SwiftData on-device. No analytics SDK. No account, no email, no sign-in. Your drinking record never leaves your device.
Why we built it
The polished sober-curious apps (Sunnyside $99/yr, Reframe $75/yr, LESS $59/yr) gate basic drink tracking behind subscriptions. The free alternatives (I Am Sober, Drinker's Helper) are ad-supported or low-quality. Apple Health has an alcohol field but it's buried six taps deep with no insights. There is no calm, beaut…
What makes it different
Mellow is the first calm, beautifully-designed, fully-free drink tracker in the App Store. We are not subscription-gated (vs Sunnyside/Reframe/LESS). We are not ad-supported (vs I Am Sober). We are not clinical or program-driven (vs Reframe's 160-day CBT). We are not gamified-into-anxiety (no streak shame, no buzzing…
Who it's for
Anyone who wants honest tracking without a coach, a subscription, or a streak guilting them at 11pm.
In one line: A calm tracker for what you drink.
